D'Angela, Doucet, Graham will be MSU vice-presidents

In meeting that lasted more than 10 hours on Sunday, the SRA selected Anna D’Angela to be the McMaster Students Union’s VP (Administration), Jeffrey Doucet to be VP (Finance) and Spencer Graham to be VP (Education) in 2013-14.

Deep roots: Elliott BROOD

There was a time when Stephen Pitkin, percussionist for Elliott BROOD, used a suitcase in place of a bass drum on stage. In their earlier recordings, the Toronto-based, three-piece band produced a similar effect by stomping together on a wooden floor. The quick and heavy rhythm added energy to their acoustic guitars, banjos and ukuleles.

This is it. It’s our last edition of the year, and it’s my last edition ever. And in the last issue of every school year, it’s customary for the Executive Editor to mourn his/her time at the Silhouette over a few hundred self-indulgent words.

On Thursday, McMaster University released its 2013 “sunshine list” [link], which publicly discloses the salaries of its employees that made at least $100,000 in 2012.

After last year’s attendance of over 670 students, this year’s MSU general assembly was an embarrassment. Only 60 people showed up, and no more than 30 voted on either of the two motions.
